nursinghomes.com.au (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a directory that helps people find nursing homes and aged care homes in Australia. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect
You can search and browse the directory without giving us any personal information. We only collect information in these situations:
- Enquiries. If you send an enquiry about a nursing home, we collect the details you enter: your name, email address, phone number (if you provide one) and your message.
- Your location. If you choose “Use my location”, your browser asks for your permission first. Your location is used on your device to sort homes by distance. We do not receive it or store it.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server records, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visited and the date and time.
- Emails to us. If you email us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.
Please do not include sensitive health details in an enquiry beyond what is needed. A care home can ask you for more information directly.

- To respond to your enquiry, or pass it on to the nursing home you asked about.
- To answer your questions and give you support.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with

Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.

Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
